It’s impossible to describe the feeling of having my words transformed by music. I have been honored to work with two incredibly talented composers, Clayton J. Horath and Michael Wolniakowski. “The Seasons,” text by Jennifer G. Knoblock, music by Clayton J. Horath
A cycle of five poems depicting each season of the year and a concluding reflection. Set as art songs for piano, oboe, and mezzo-soprano soloist.
“Let Us Give Thanks,” text by Jennifer G. Knoblock (incorporating Psalm 107:8), music by Clayton J. Horath
A Thanksgiving poem set for SATB chorus with piano accompaniment. Premiered by The Lutheran Festival Chorus (Chicago area, Illinois) in November, 2013.
“To God’s People,” text by Jennifer G. Knoblock, music by Clayton J. Horath
A short Advent poem based on Isaiah 40:1-11, set for accompanied treble voices as part of a larger work, “Isaiah Hath Foretold It.”
“Not of Ourselves,” text by Jennifer G. Knoblock, music by Clayton J. Horath
A traditional hymn with four verses, inspired by Ephesians 2:8-9.
“Carol of the Flowers,” traditional text with additional verses by Jennifer G. Knoblock, music by Michael Wolniakowski
A gorgeous Christmas carol, set for SATB chorus with harpsichord and string accompaniment. Premiered by the Oak Park Concert Chorale (Chicago, Illinois) November 18, 2018.
