broad summer is no time for poems
not with sunflowers nodding, laden
garden spiked with color
dart of wings and cicadas singing
rather, all this haymaking over dreams
while the sun shines
some poetic justice though, heart-pause
for rabbit nestlings in the carrots
…and huddles in the marigolds
Lovely poem as summer winds down. Have missed you!

Thank you. I’ve missed being here & connecting…pulling myself out of vacation mode now. 🙂

So glad poetic justice prevailed. What a cute rabbit clan…though the carrots may not be completely thrilled 😉

That’s the trouble with rabbits–so cute, but so hungry!

Yes rabbits love to nibble. I had to raise the height of my garden fence this year as they ate my first spring plantings.

I did some crazy engineering with my screened panels until the plants were big enough 🙂 Not pretty but fairly effective.

Yes sheltering the plants can look rough but it’s life or death for the plants.

I was thinking about you the other day and wondering where you were. I’m happy to hear you were in vacation mode. How wonderful!
“heart-pause” indeed for the rabbits. 🙂

Yes, it was easy to get busy with other things. Time to regroup and return to a routine!
