dreaming crabapple, pomegranate-bright
paired cardinals, redbud, tulips bobbing
in tattered sunlight—I see people—
outside!—discussing the trim of a tree
strange
how nothing in pendant birch-pods
questing tendril peas nor even flight of bees
suggests an asteroid skimming past
only five times farther than the moon
…but it happened…asteroid info here.
I saw that news today. Wild!

When I saw the article last night, I was wondering why I hadn’t heard about it before! But of course, I don’t watch TV news or listen much to the radio. Maybe it was very talked-about in the wider world. 🙂

I don’t watch the news, but I saw the article this morning. My husband said he heard it last night. I don’t think it was talked about much.

Too bad. I think we should have all astronomy news, all the time. 🙂

I think it’s there, but not always front and center.

And still the world turns! I love your poem and glad that asteroid went on its way.

I was just reading about the asteroid. Well, I won’t worry about when it comes by in 500 years. In the meantime, the cardinals. (K)

Love the juxtaposition which feels other worldly.

Thank you. Those cardinals, especially, insisted on being represented!

I love hearing and seeing cardinals and it’s not very often around here.

They have been around more than usual lately. For whatever reason, I’ll take it. 🙂
