finally the birds
invite me to their party
I bring sunflower
seeds found in bits and tatters
to scatter singing like thanks
2.
these found me wanting
green things curled beneath old leaves
still light-ly dozing

Birds are singing and green things are dozing.
I imagine an invitation to a bird party coming in a singing telegram message. How delightful!
We had lunch outside at a restaurant today, and then we walked a few miles along Wissahickon Creek. I can’t believe it’s February!

We sent the good stuff your way, I guess. It’s gray and chilly again here. But the birds are still singing!

I’ve been followed by sparrows lately. I mean really close, looking at me and doing their “chirp, chirp, chirp”…perhaps I missed the party? I’ll have to buy some sunflower seeds! (K)

Lovely. As the weather is now (it snowed today) I look forward to these days.

It was snowing here today, too! That’s why those late-winter spring days are so special. 🙂
