I like the line flows in this–and “transplanted gardener’s gaze.” Is it the gaze or the gardener that’s transplanted (and forlorn) or both? 🙂
I lived in Dallas as a child. I didn’t garden then either, but I was transplanted, and then transplanted back more successfully back north.
