I wonder whether the astronauts feel overwhelmed, outside of the familiar containment–but then again, they would be the adventurous types. 🙂

Yes, I think astronauts on the whole cannot be too introspective, at least while they are out there in space, because I think the idea alone of what you are doing might take away your confidence.
