new to the practice

early enough
				breathe in
mind bows
				body bends
bends and
				unbends
spirals out (breathe out)
ticks off to-dos
				flexes
and falls
				forgives
again
				breathes in
		again
		we meet

      1. Oh, welcome to the practice! Yoga reopened writing poetry for me after a couple decades of me saying “I don’t have time, I am not good at it and I don’t have anything to say.” I hope you find it opens new horizons for you, too, in addition to making your body feel more human.

  1. I can relate to this from my yoga class days…’spirals and ticks off to dos’–yep–the poem looks like a cleave poem with a step alignment (which works well with this poem )
