I recall blue murmur
mist-mad beauty
lighted beneath
(another castle
struggles away)
I wish wild
miracles true
rock rain & after

I love that part about the castle. I have such a mental picture of a castle- shrugging off invaders, or the sea, or tourists (depending how I decide to go with it, I’m thinking tourists).
Maybe I got off the track but that phrase really hit me. Majesty and triviality.

I love your take. Poor castles! And the really crumbled ones are my favorites…

Yes, as a child I devoured books on ruins of castles, temples, you name it, having never seen anything like that in person, so when I did as an adult, I had so much built up for it that it was even more exciting. I still feel this way.

I love that final stanza – “I wish mad miracles true” and “mist-mad beauty” is a wonderful use of language. And the castle of course reminds me of Ireland 🙂

After I wrote this, I had to go look at all my misty castle pics again. 🙂

You are too kind. The magnetic poetry set is good for shaking my sometimes-too-logical (boring) brain. 🙂
