My World

For this golden age of re-invention
I’ll have mine on the sea-rocks, waltz-flavored
gypsy-scarf tied with that café on the corner
jackhammers and rainfall, a wide porch
swinging to knit-rhythm, two or three cats

I’ll have the wisdom of age like a hobbit-hermit
soft and snug enough to peek out at the stars,
night-gazing; I’ll be queen of this mountain-
walking realm with window boxes, chickens
pecking in the prairie-yard grass

  1. Swinging to knit-rhythm. Waltz-flavored. I’ll have mine on the sea-rocks.
Ooooh, Jenn, I love this! I hope you’ll maintain the momentum when the month is done – I do so look forward to your poems each day 🙂

    1. Your support is a treasure. I don’t know if I can keep up a poem a day, but the discipline of daily writing time is definitely a keeper.
