you can’t
get enough song
wine, sunshine, chocolate
seashells, praise, castles, alone-time:
cash helps
Because I am always saying (and writing) things that turn out to be untrue, I especially appreciated today’s NaPoWriMo prompt, which is to write a palinode.
I just nodded.
More sunshine! More cash! Yes, please.

Love the last line, sudden and real.

I tried taking the high road in the previous poem…but honesty is good, too. Right?

I think high road is good for the soul and honesty is crucial to good writing. I, somehow, tend to take the latter more often than I should.

That’s really good. I didn’t know what a palinode was…I always learn something good from your site 🙂

It was new to me, too…or I had just forgotten…

Oh! You are so on to a basic truth of life! My sister once traveled to a developing country and complained that for two weeks she could not get fresh vegetables. I asked, ‘And you learned ..?’ Without skipping a beat, she said, ‘to never travel without chocolate.’ :). We need our comfort stuff!
