So we flail, trapped
indoors out of season
cold currents against
us. Our spring is up—
down falls the earth-turn
we wormed our way
to this light just
as everything fades

In French I would say “triste mais beau”…
I love the three last lines
“we wormed our way
to this light just
as everything fades”
Great title, – I absolutely love the word “September” in English, it always reminds me of a Sinatra’s song “September of my years” (I love it!!!) In cas you like Sinatra… and since we’re on september 1st… (and because of your title…)

I was feeling ‘triste’…glad you thought it was ‘beau.’ Thank you for the song–I feel better now! 🙂
